The objective of Capté?
To make you Save you time in your subtitling tasks! By allowing you to optimize your time, for you focus on the essentials of your business.

Video is a format that is becoming more and more widespread and consumed on social networks. We see videos in different areas: communication, coaching, podcast, branded content... But one key element is often forgotten: subtitles.

But why do you have to subtitle your video content?

First of all, for digital accessibility, subtitling your content means allowing everyone to access it, especially the deaf and hard of hearing. In France, more than 5 million people have a hearing impairment. Putting subtitles is therefore not negligible.

Secondly, subtitles allow you to catch the eye of your audience, indeed, often people will have to scroll and video content launches in autoplay, subtitles will catch your eye and there is more chance that people stop and watch your video. On top of that, if your video is subtitled, people will be able to watch it without the sound. Now we know that most of the time videos are viewed on cell phones and it is not always possible to activate the sound.

Subtitles allow you to get 12% of additional visibility and engagement (comments, shares and likes). Engagement on social networks allows you to counteract the algorithms: the more engagement your post has, the more visibility it gets from the algorithm. So it's a loop, subtitles help you so subtitle your content!

Then, subtitles allow you to expand your community. At first because your video is more accessible. Second, because it becomes more visible. And thirdly because you can translate your subtitles to reach an international audience.

Finally, a study shows that on Facebook, 80% videos are viewed in mute mode, so if you don't want the public to miss your videos, there's only one solution: subtitle them!

The problem with captioning is that it is a time-consuming and tedious process. Plus, not everyone knows how to do it. There is a simple solution to these problems: automatic captioning.

We designed Capté, a simple and intuitive tool to allow everyone to subtitle their content efficiently. Capté is a web application that uses voice recognition to automatically subtitle your videos.

To automatically subtitle with Captured, follow the step-by-step instructions below:

  1. Upload your video
  2. Artificial intelligence automatically transcribes audio into subtitles
  3. Edit your automatic subtitles by correcting any errors that may have been made and adjusting the time codes if necessary.
  4. Translate your subtitles if you wish. More than 5 languages are available if you have the premium subscription: English, Spanish, Italian, German, Simplified Chinese & much more.
  5. Stylize your subtitles. If you feel like having subtitles in your own image, it's possible: colours, typography, background, outline...have fun!
  6. Export your video with embedded subtitles or the .srt file.
  7. Once your subtitles are ready and integrated, your content is ready to be published on social networks.

To help you get the most out of this subtitling task, here are a few tips:

  • Do not put on music before automatically subtitling to allow speech recognition to make an efficient transcription of your video. Music will disrupt the artificial intelligence and it will be less efficient.
  • If you always use the same subtitle style, you can save it so you can find it again and use it for your next videos.
  • Please make sure to edit your original text before proceeding with the translation to avoid errors. We still advise you to always proofread the translation to avoid nonsense.

Capté is a tool with the user at its heart. Interviews were conducted prior to the creation of the web application to meet the most precise needs of content creators. The editor is intuitive to allow you to subtitle easily: just navigate from tab to tab. Click from left to right to follow the steps and make automatic subtitles. The subtitle editor is also designed like a Word document so that everyone can find their way around and be efficient.

Capté, it's easy subtitling that saves you time and money.

Capté has 3 offers:

  • Free: you can subtitle your video for free but your video will have a watermark captured in the top left corner.
  • Standard : if you don't want a watermark, you can subscribe to a standard subscription of 18€ / month
  • Premium: if you don't want a watermark and you want to translate your content, you can subscribe to a 45€ / month premium subscription.

The .srt file is provided by Capté. The .srt is an extension, it is a subtitle format. It is the most used format because it is the one accepted by the most video players (such as those of social networks, for example).

This subtitle file contains the sequenced subtitles with their input and output time codes. The file also contains the display order of each subtitle.

The .srt file is used for closed captioning, also known as "closed captioning". This technique allows the user to enable or disable subtitles if desired. You've probably already seen this on YouTube. This technique also makes it possible to choose between several subtitle tracks and thus to be able to offer subtitles in several languages (in this case, you need to make an .srt file for each desired language).

The advantages of the .srt file are as follows:

  • The file size is small so the subtitled video will be less heavy than if the files are overlayed.
  • the ability to put multiple files to offer audio translations
  • the possibility to let the user choose whether or not to display subtitles
  • the possibility to integrate your own subtitles in a video thanks to this file (example: on Youtube, on Facebook, in your editing software), so it's never too late to subtitle a content.

We're different from anything you've tested so far.

So why not try it ?
